Mater Dei Religious Education 934 SW. Clay Street - Topeka, Kansas 66606-1438
The Mater Dei Holy Name school of Religion serves children from preschool (age 4) through high school who attend public schools during
the week. our mission, as throughout the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, is to support families in handing on the Catholic Christian faith.
We are a volunteer driven program which employs an average of forty-five parents, teachers, and students yearly. Parents comprise
seventy-six percent of the teacher and assistant staff. We strive to provide a sound program of ongoing education for the teachers and their aides to assure we proclaim the gospel message, build community,
call to prayer and worship, and motivate the student to a life of service.
Our teachers will utilize studies based on the Bible, liturgical celebrations, The Church and nature to achieve these goals.
Care is taken to present the material appropriately to the student's level of maturity and ability in the hope that they will build a personal relationship with God, accept and express that they have been created by
God to share His life with joy and a growing sense of responsibility, learn the doctrine and teachings of the Church and respond to God's love in ways that evolve from the Gospels and from the example of Christ's
love for His people.
Together, with the Church, the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, a team of committed teaching volunteers and families, and the
dedicated teaching and leadership of our parish religious, the students will grow in faith and willingness to share their faith in service to our parish community and the community at large.
